Thursdays – Second Harvest Food Bank Service Project

Our club is serving at Second Harvest on the last Thursday of each
month from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
—–Thursday, October 25
—–Thursday, November 29
—–Thursday, December 27

Our first venture involved an “eggs-cellent” experience for ten
members who sorted eggs.  There’s unlimited space for volunteers.
New members are encouraged to help and have the
opportunity to meet other club members. You not only gain a
sense of fulfillment but also have fun working together! Be sure
to phone or email me each month if you plan to participate.

Did you know that within our 16-county service area nearly
44,000 children are food insecure and don’t always know where
their next meal will come from? Studies show that poorly
nourished children can’t concentrate and don’t perform as well in
school, have lower graduation rates, and require far more long term
health care spending. Second Harvest addresses childhood
hunger though several initiatives. Thanks to our generous support,
we’re working to improve access to nutritious food for children
facing hunger.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Second Harvest Food Bank Coordinator
